Seda's Enhancements Version 5 (SE5) was the first version of Seda's Enhancements available in 2018.

Development

Compatibility

This was the last version of the scripts to be tested on 32-bit x86 machines.

Scope

SE5 ran on Debian 10.

New Features

This version of the scripts introduced the following components for the first time:

Changelog

Seda's Enhancements 5 Changelog
Date Version Changes Fixes Notes
5.0.0 (all) The 5.x.x versions of the scripts requires a 64-Bit system running Debian 9 or later.

(all) These versions of the scripts cannot be mixed with prior versions.
(all) Renamed from Delta Network Scripts to Seda's Enhancements.
(all) Version numbering has now changed. MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH. For example, this is version 5.0.0 - its the fifth major revision. If a problem/bug is patched, it would be 5.0.1. Or, if a minor feature is added, it would become 5.1.0. If an incompatible and major set of changes is done, it would become 6.0.0. Versions are also now dated (in delta-about) in order to track which version you are running, and when it was created. Scripts from the 5.x.x series can all operate with other scripts from that series. A script from 6.x.x may not work if paired with 5.x.x series scripts.
(delta-benchmark) Updated to make the benchmark task more difficult to account for faster processors which were completing the task too early.
(delta-benchmark) Updated to reflect the scores System Jennifer accomplished with the changes, to maintain accurate comparisons.
(delta-factor) Improved efficiency by several orders of magnitude.
(delta-ifc) Updated to reflect changes in delta-factor.
(conky.conf) Cleaned up areas of the code that used overly complex methods of obtaining information. Where possible, standard system functions are now used instead. This makes Conky use considerably less resources.
(delta-version) Changed display layout.

(delta-identifydisks) Fixed bug causing Optical drives to display when none were installed. The script will now correctly state that a drive is not present. None
5.0.1 (all) Removed any and all references or uses of GNU Parallel. Removed GNU Parallel as a requirement of the scripts. Functions that previously used GNU Parallel have been re-written to use other methods of achieving the same goal.

(conky.conf) Changed refresh of Mesa Shader Cache size to once per eighteen hours.
(delta-benchmark) Re-written to avoid use of GNU Parallel.
(delta-ifc) Re-written to avoid use of GNU Parallel.
(delta-cluster) Re-written to avoid use of GNU Parallel.

None None

Notes

SE5 was the last version of the scripts to ship with custom artwork.
