seda-optical is a component of Seda's Enhancements, introduced in SE6.
Purpose
Create Archive of Optical Disc creates an exact copy of any optical disc on your computers fixed storage. It can be used to create another disc, or to playback directly with the computer without needing to use the disc again. This is useful to safeguard original disc copies while still enjoying their content. This supports DVD, BD, and UHD.
Requirements
All systems supported by Seda's Enhancements are capable of running this feature.

Media Archive & Playback → Archive Media → Creative Archive of Optical Disc
Terminal
In your terminal type seda-optical and it will open a dialog showing what types of media your optical drive is capable of reading. It currently checks for the ability to read DVD, HD-DVD, BD, and UHD. Each will be listed as 'Compatible' or 'Not Compatible' - the ability to read CDs is assumed.
Do note that HD-DVD playback support is not directly included in SE2024 – but you can convert it to another format.
