A Seda's Enhancements Component

seda-optical is a component of Seda's Enhancements, introduced in SE6.

Purpose

Check Optical Drive Compatibility will open a dialog showing what types of media your optical drive is capable of reading. The ability to read CDs is assumed.

Requirements

All systems supported by Seda's Enhancements are capable of running this feature.

Graphical

Media Archive & Playback → Archive Media → Check Optical Drive Compatibility

Terminal

seda-optical in the terminal. It currently checks for the ability to read DVD, HD-DVD, BD, and UHD. Each will be listed as 'Compatible' or 'Not Compatible'.
Do note that HD-DVD playback support is not directly included in SE2024 – but you can convert it to another format.
