Seda's Enhancements Version 6 (SE6) was the second version of Seda's Enhancements available in 2019.

Compatibility

SE6 was compatible with all the same hardware as SE5.

Scope

SE6 ran on Debian 10 and 11 (during testing).

New Features

This version of the scripts introduced the following components for the first time:

• seda-chat for a secure chat system.
• seda-optical for identifying optical disc drives and the media type.
• seda-weather for getting weather information.

This is a new feature under development and additional ways of instantly lowering power consumption and noise are being investigated. The goal is to have this script become automatic in future - so when you drop back to your desktop, your computer drops into the lowest power mode unless certain other applications are launched (Wine, Steam, Firefox, VLC, etc...).
