seda-protection was a component of Seda's Enhancements, introduced in Version 7.

Purpose

System Health

seda-protection was a part of a health and fan speed control framework designed to provide more reliable control of system fans during overheat conditions. It was used to provide guaranteed minimum fan speeds if sensor information was unreliable with newer hardware.

All of what this script used to do has been replaced by upstream projects; but the warning system was rolled into seda-sensors

Use

Graphical

The protection script was never ran manually.

Terminal

Running it from the terminal would have printed a warning and exited.
